Day 5 — I Needed Five Minutes Alone
It's almost bedtime, and some of us are still carrying the whole day on our shoulders.
A kind word for tonight
I love my people dearly, but I needed room to think. One more voice, one more question, and my patience reached the brink. A minute without anybody asking me to move Can help me find the steadier voice I'm trying to improve.
Before we stress, let's assess
Before we stress, let's assess. Needing a safe break is a need, not a parenting failure.
Step 1. Tonight’s reset
STOP: check your limits.
BREATHE: unclench.
SAY WHAT YOU NEED: "I need five quiet minutes, then I'll come back."
Step 2. I DO → WE DO → YOU DO
I DO: name it.
WE DO: share what we can.
YOU DO: choose one step.
Step 3. One small action
Arrange a safe, brief break when another adult can help or everyone is settled.
Your work mattered today. We made it through the day.
