Caregiver Motivation

I Keep Comparing Myself

You opened your phone for five minutes.

Step 1. What's happening

Caregiver…

You opened your phone for five minutes.

Now somebody else’s house looks cleaner.

Their kids look calmer.

Their business looks bigger.

Their life looks easier.

And suddenly you’re questioning yours.

Step 2. Behavior clues

Galatians 6:4 KJV says:

“But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.”

In other words:

Look at your work.

Your growth.

Your lane.

Step 3. Watch before you react

  1. CLOSE IT

Step away from whatever is making you feel behind.

  1. COUNT IT

Name one thing that’s better in your life than it was six months ago.

  1. COME BACK

Ask:

“What does MY family need today?”

Step 4. STOP → BREATHE → SAY WHAT THEY NEED

STOP — Pause before you react.

BREATHE — One slow breath. Count to five.

SAY — “I’m going to take a minute, then try again.”

Step 5. I DO → WE DO → YOU DO

  1. I Do — Show it first: model “Close It” out loud so your family can see it.
  1. We Do — Practice “Count It” together in a calm moment.
  1. You Do — Try “Come Back” on your own today. Notice what changes.

Step 6. Try this tonight

  1. Today, practice: Close It.
  1. Today, practice: Count It.
  1. Today, practice: Come Back.

Caregiver…

Somebody else’s highlight cannot measure your whole life.

Their chapter isn’t your chapter.

Their pace isn’t your pace.

Stay in your lane.

There’s work for you there.

💜 Before we stress, let’s assess.

Spot the clue. Know what to do.
