Caregiver Motivation
Nobody Sees How Much I Do
Some of your hardest work happens where nobody applauds.
Step 1. What's happening
Caregiver…
Some of your hardest work happens where nobody applauds.
Nobody sees you filling out the forms.
Remembering the appointments.
Talking somebody through a meltdown.
Checking the backpack.
Answering the email.
Making sure everybody has what they need.
You handle a hundred little things…
and people still ask:
“What did you do today?”
Step 2. Behavior clues
Hebrews 6:10 KJV says:
“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love.”
People may miss it.
But that doesn’t mean the work didn’t matter.
Step 3. Watch before you react
- NOTICE IT
Write down three things you handled yesterday that nobody talked about.
- NAME IT
Stop calling invisible work “nothing.”
- HONOR IT
Give yourself credit.
Not because you need applause for everything.
But because you need an accurate picture of what you’re actually carrying.
Step 4. STOP → BREATHE → SAY WHAT THEY NEED
STOP — Pause before you react.
BREATHE — One slow breath. Count to five.
SAY — “I’m going to take a minute, then try again.”
Step 5. I DO → WE DO → YOU DO
- I Do — Show it first: model “Notice It” out loud so your family can see it.
- We Do — Practice “Name It” together in a calm moment.
- You Do — Try “Honor It” on your own today. Notice what changes.
Step 6. Try this tonight
- Today, practice: Notice It.
- Today, practice: Name It.
- Today, practice: Honor It.
Caregiver…
The phone call mattered.
The calm response mattered.
The lunch you packed mattered.
The form you remembered mattered.
The hug after the hard moment mattered.
Seeds can grow before they ever show.
So when nobody else sees the work—
remember:
God does.
And today, I want you to see it too.
💜 Before we stress, let’s assess.
Spot the clue. Know what to do.
