1. STOP
- Stop my body.
2. BREATHE
- Take a slow breath in.
- Let a slow breath out.
3. SAY WHAT I NEED
- “I need a break.”
- “I need help.”
- “I need some space.”
- “I'm getting mad.”
Practice it
Put one hand on your tummy and feel it move. Then do the three steps.
For the grown-up
Step 1: Ask “What does your tummy feel like?” Step 2: Breathe with a hand on the belly. Step 3: Let them say what they need.
I'm learning to spot the clues, so I can know what to do, to regulate and be cool, even when I go to school!
