- "Look at me." — attention. Give it before the behavior, not after.
- "Get me out of this." — escape. Shrink the task, keep the ask.
- "I want that." — the thing. Name when they can have it.
- "My body feels bad." — sensory or tired or hungry. Fix the body first.
Spot the clue, know what to do. Write down the 10 minutes before — that's where the clue lives.
