Caregiver Motivation

I Want To Quit

Have you ever whispered:

Step 1. What's happening

Caregiver…

Have you ever whispered:

“I don’t want to do this anymore.”

Not because you don’t love your family.

Not because the dream doesn’t matter.

You’re just tired of pushing.

Tired of trying.

Tired of putting in work and wondering when something is finally going to change.

Step 2. Behavior clues

Psalm 126:5 KJV says:

“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.”

Sometimes planting doesn’t look like progress.

It’s underground.

Quiet.

Invisible.

But something can still be growing.

Step 3. Watch before you react

  1. LOOK BACK

Find one thing that’s better than it used to be.

Even if it’s small.

  1. LIGHTEN UP

Don’t make today your biggest workday.

Make it your don’t-quit day.

  1. KEEP ONE THING

Do the smallest thing that keeps you connected to the goal.

Step 4. STOP → BREATHE → SAY WHAT THEY NEED

STOP — Pause before you react.

BREATHE — One slow breath. Count to five.

SAY — “I’m going to take a minute, then try again.”

Step 5. I DO → WE DO → YOU DO

  1. I Do — Show it first: model “Look Back” out loud so your family can see it.
  1. We Do — Practice “Lighten Up” together in a calm moment.
  1. You Do — Try “Keep One Thing” on your own today. Notice what changes.

Step 6. Try this tonight

  1. Today, practice: Look Back.
  1. Today, practice: Lighten Up.
  1. Today, practice: Keep One Thing.

Caregiver…

Sometimes winning isn’t doing more.

Sometimes winning is simply saying:

“I’m still here.”

The seed may grow before the progress starts to show.

So don’t dig it up just because you can’t see it yet.

💜 Before we stress, let’s assess.

Spot the clue. Know what to do.
