Caregiver Motivation

I’m Tired Of Being Strong

Everybody tells you:

Step 1. What's happening

Caregiver…

Everybody tells you:

“You’re so strong.”

And maybe you are.

But sometimes you hear that and think:

“I don’t WANT to be strong today.”

Because strong became:

Handle it.

Fix it.

Carry it.

Figure it out.

Keep going.

Step 2. Behavior clues

But Isaiah 40:31 KJV says:

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength.”

Notice that.

Strength can be renewed.

Which means sometimes strength gets low.

Step 3. Watch before you react

  1. ADMIT IT

Say:

“This is a lot.”

You don’t have to pretend otherwise.

  1. RELEASE IT

Pick one thing you do not have to carry today.

  1. RECEIVE

Let somebody help.

Let something wait.

Let yourself rest.

Step 4. STOP → BREATHE → SAY WHAT THEY NEED

STOP — Pause before you react.

BREATHE — One slow breath. Count to five.

SAY — “I’m going to take a minute, then try again.”

Step 5. I DO → WE DO → YOU DO

  1. I Do — Show it first: model “Admit It” out loud so your family can see it.
  1. We Do — Practice “Release It” together in a calm moment.
  1. You Do — Try “Receive” on your own today. Notice what changes.

Step 6. Try this tonight

  1. Today, practice: Admit It.
  1. Today, practice: Release It.
  1. Today, practice: Receive.

Caregiver…

Strength isn’t pretending you’re never tired.

Sometimes strength is knowing when your tank needs filling.

You don’t have to prove you’re strong by breaking yourself under the load.

💜 Before we stress, let’s assess.

Spot the clue. Know what to do.
